Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Emergency Housing Waiver
Revenue Procedure 2014-49 allows for the temporary suspension of income limitations for displaced individuals affected by a Presidentially Declared Disaster. Under this procedure, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit developments may be used to house individuals displaced due to a disaster area declaration with approval from the housing agency.
The Temporary Housing Period cannot exceed 12 months from the end of the month in which the President declared the Major Disaster (in this instance, October 31, 2026).
Property owners must receive approval from AHFC’s Internal Audit Department prior to providing emergency housing under this provision.
If you operate a LIHTC development and would like to provide emergency housing for those displaced due to Typhoon Halong, use the contact information below to request additional information and approval.
